Selling Your Book or Other Publication to VPL

Vancouver Public Library strives to build a balanced collection to serve the public. We appreciate your ideas and contributions. All material purchased for the collection is required to meet VPL's Collection Development Policy.

We are interested in items of local interest, written by local authors and relating to Vancouver or British Columbia. We support local authors by including a representative sample of their work in the collection.

We also support self-published books by local authors.

At present, the library purchases ebooks through OverDrive ebook distributor. Please contact OverDrive directly to find out how to be included in their inventory.

NOTE
All unsolicited material sent to or left with the library for consideration is the property of the Vancouver Public Library and will not be paid for or returned. The library reserves the right to decide the disposition of these items and those not needed for the collection may be sold for the benefit of the library.

If your work meets the selection criteria, you can offer to sell a book, film or other material to Vancouver Public Library in two ways. You can either let us know which supplier you sell your materials through (this is our preferred method for purchasing materials) or we can follow up and establish you as a vendor for the Vancouver Public Library. We may require additional personal information for you to become a vendor for the library (such as a Social Insurance Number) to comply with Federal Income Tax requirements.

Please let us know more about your book, film or other material to Vancouver Public Library online or by mail as indicated below.
