Exploring Eco-Theatre for Teens

Image
A close-up headshot of artist and writer Francis Dowlatabadi.

The scale of environmental issues is daunting to say the least. Theatre gives us the space to explore their scope and build towards meaningful change through empathy and play.

In this 90 minute workshop, artist Francis Dowlatabadi will cover the basics of writing for stage, share knowledge about environmental issues from the raccoons in your backyard to climate change, and explain how to explore these ideas through theatre. By the end of this workshop you will have written a first draft of an eco-theatre scene, heard it acted out, and have the tools to build your scene into full play. All levels of skill are welcome. Participants need not have any theatre experience or even an environmental topic in mind when signing up.

For ages 13-18.

Monday, March 24 | 2 - 3:30 p.m.
