Kids Read it First

Be among the first kids ever to read new books! With Kids Read it First, you get to read and review Advance Reading Copies (ARCs) of books even before they hit the book store shelves.  These are the only library books where you are encouraged to write in the book!

Each book comes with a review slip to get you started on writing your reviews.  Children who sign out an ARC are encouraged to review the book and send their review to childrens.teens@vpl.ca

ARC books do not need to be checked out with a library card.

Kids Read it First Books are available at Britannia Branch, Champlain Heights Branch, Kensington Branch
Kerrisdale Branch and Terry Salman Branch

For more opportunities to get your writing in the library, also check out VPL’s Get Your Book in the Library Program for kids in K – 7.

Check out some past reviews on our Made by Kids page!
