STEM and STEAM Learning

STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and math. STEAM stand for the same, with the addition of an A for Art.  STEM and STEAM learning fosters problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, curiosity, and resiliency. VPL offers a variety of STEM and STEAM experiences that allow children to create, build, and code.

  • In the Library: Come into any of our branches to experiment with Ozobots, Cubetto, Snap Circuits, and more. STEM Toy availability will vary by location.
  • At Home: Families, childcares, and community groups can use their VPL card to place a hold and take home STEAM Kits from any branch, just like a book.
  • In a Program: The library also offers a variety STEM programs for school-age kids. Meet other kids and have fun experimenting!
