Brave Highland Heart

A little girl is told that she is too young to stay up for the Ceilidh, an evening of dance and celebration; but the bagpipes call to her, and the smell of the food and sound of laughter are too much to resist, so the girl sneaks out of her bed and into the barn to take a closer look.

Heather Kellerhals-Stewart is an experienced writer of children’s and young adult fiction. Brave Highland Heart was shortlisted for the Governor General’s Award. Heather lives on Quadra Island where she hears many tall tales.

Werner Zimmermann was born in Austria, and grew up outside of Hamilton, Ontario. His career in children’s books and experience as a teacher started almost simultaneously in 1986, and to date he has written and illustrated over 16 books for children.
