When a silk train derails and dumps its precious cargo into the Fraser River, Emma helps others to retrieve the silk. She hopes that she can find some for herself, but her quest puts her in danger. Lawson has based her story on an actual historical event.
Julie Lawson was born and still lives in Victoria. She has written thirty books, and travels the country talking and reading to schools and libraries.
Paul Mombourquette grew up as an “Air Force brat” in various places in Canada, and now lives in Utah.
