Guidelines for Suggesting a Title

Eligibility - This service is only available for Vancouver residents. For details on this, visit our FAQs.

Selection Process - We typically select items that:

1. Are not already in our collection
2. Were published in the past two years. We don’t take suggestions for titles in pre-publication
3. Are of local interest – written by local authors and/or relating to Vancouver or BC
4. Are of general current widespread interest and will help diversify our collection

Suggestion Limits - Please stay within our current suggestion limits.

1. You can suggest up to 2 items per week
2. Suggest one single title at a time - don't suggest all the titles in one series, or all titles by the same author(s)
3. Suggest a title once – we receive and consider all requests
