Accessible Collections

Audiobooks are available in a variety of formats such as CD, MP3 CD and downloadable audiobook. DAISY formats are also available for those who have a print disability and are registered with Accessible Services. To find audiobooks, search the library catalogue for books in these formats or visit the Digital Library.

CELA offers a growing collection of over 650,000 titles, which includes books, newspapers and magazines in accessible formats such as Braille, e-text, and audio. CELA also provides access to Bookshare, a US-based accessible online library for people with print disabilities. Once registered with CELA, people with print disabilities have access to physical and direct-to-player formats.

Borrow movies, TV shows and more in formats such as DVD and Blu-ray disc with audio description by searching the library catalogue for these formats. Those who have a print disability and are registered with CELA can also access CELA’s collection of described video on DVDs.

Read library ebooks on your ereader, computer, smartphone and other devices and platforms with features to adjust font size, line spacing and more. Search the library catalogue for books in ebook format or visit the Digital Library.

We also share audiobook resources with other InterLINK libraries for the use of people with print disabilities. This partnership gives VPL patrons with print disabilities access to shared resources with other InterLINK libraries in B.C.

Large print books have a font size of 14 points or higher. VPL has thousands of titles available in large print format. Find them by searching the library catalogue for books in a large print format.
