  • Our writer in residence program promotes Canadian writing and literature through the creation of new work, mentorship of emerging writers, and various workshops and activities.

  • Through the storyteller in residence, VPL seeks to honour Indigenous cultures and to promote intercultural understanding and communication between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples.

  • On the last Wednesday of February, students across Canada and in several other countries wear pink shirts to stand up against bullying! Pink Shirt Day was started by 2 high school students in Nova Scotia in 2007. See this Resources for Young People page to learn more.
