Houdini
Houdini is a professional 3D animation software application developed in Toronto, Canada by SideFX. It is used to create 3D animation, motion graphics and visual effects (VFX) for film, TV, video games, and virtual reality. Have a look at the 2022 Houdini Film & TV Reel to see what's possible! The version of Houdini Indie currently available in the Inspiration Lab is 19.5.
Houdini in the Inspiration Lab
We have two different versions of Houdini available on computers in the Inspiration Lab: Houdini Indie and Houdini Apprentice. Houdini Apprentice is for personal non-commercial use and includes watermarked renders. Houdini Indie renders do not have watermarks and may be used for commercial usage up to $100K USD.
Houdini Indie and Houdini Indie Engine is available on CIL3014, CIL3015, CIL3016 and CIL3017. Houdini Apprentice is available on CIL3004, CIL3006, CIL3007, CIL3008, CIL3009, CIL3010, CIL3012, CIL3018 and CIL3021. Computers can be reserved in advance or you may drop-in (subject to availability). If reserving, bookings can be made up to two weeks in advance, for up to 3 hours per day.
