Programs

  • Reading Buddies is a program that pairs teens aged 13-18 with kids in grades 2 to 4 who would like to improve their reading. We are looking for role models who can connect with children and help them become engaged with the library and develop a love of reading and learning. Be a big buddy and earn community service hours!

  • We all have stories to tell but how do you share them with the world? Our self-publishing workshops will empower you with the knowledge and skills to get started!

  • Children in Grades 2 - 4 are matched with a "big buddy" teen mentor for fun and informal STEAM learning.

  • Be a big buddy and earn community service hours! Buddies will help kids explore a different aspect of STEAM each week using LEGO, Osmos, and Spheros.

  • A drop-in program designed especially for adults with developmental disabilities, their family, friends, and caregivers. Join us in an accessible, relaxed, and fun community setting for stories, music, games, and more!

  • TAG stands for Teen Advisory Group – a place where you can share your ideas about the library’s teen programs, services and collections and earn community service hours!

    Registration is now closed.

  • Connect with other teen artists, discuss creative projects, and learn new techniques from guest artists at this weekly in-person meet-up! Snacks provided.

    Hastings Branch | Wednesdays, October 7 to November 20 | 3:30 -5:00 p.m.

  • Be the first to read and review teen books before they’re released!

  • A series of programs to celebrate Asian cultures and perspectives — and push back against discrimination in our communities.

  • Each summer, Vancouver’s 2SLGBTQ+ community comes together alongside family, friends and allies to celebrate diversity, belonging, and living their authentic lives, and to appreciate the progress made towards realizing equity and understanding.
