  • Recording and Editing your Podcast

    Tips when recording

    1. Distance between mic: a hands distance away
    2. Watch for peaking audio: if the sound gets too loud it’ll sound distorted which is called peaking. You want to ensure your levels never go past -6 decibels. You can monitor your volume in the software while you are recording to make sure your levels never get too high.
    3. Someone should be wearing headphones at all time to monitor sound.
    4. Make sure to hit save before recording and then save once you are done.
    5. Don’t sweat it too much, you can always pause or stop a recording and editing is always an option after.
    6. Record a few seconds of room

  • Saving and Rendering Your Podcast

Be sure to save your project before recording and immediately after to ensure you have it saved. Once your audio project is edited and you are ready to render or export it, you will want to save it as an MP3. An MP3 file is considered a "lossy" file format as it uses a compression algorithm to reduce the overall file size. A file with the .mp3 file extension is one of the most commonly distributed audio files used today and is used for podcasts. For more information on file types, see our guide on General Technology Skills.

    Saving

To save an image from Photoshop, select File menu > Save As. In the popup window, select the Removable Drive/USB Drive, give the file a descriptive name, and select which File Format the image will be saved as. If your project contains multiple layers you will it will need to be exported of 'flattened' before it can be saved as a JPG or other image file.

    PSD (Photoshop Document) Files

A PSD file (Photoshop Document) is a layered image file used in Photoshop. PSD is the default format that Photoshop uses for saving data. A PSD file allows the user to work with the images' individual layers
